I was being asked to sign a "Patient PHI" Form which stated this office had the right to share my Medical, Mental, RX, Financial, etc. data with "ANY" provider or attorney, or insurance company.  They said that did not mean they would share my information with "ANY", well if that's the case, they need to re-word their required signature paperwork.  I was told if I did not sign this document, they would not see me.  This was a very sensitive situation, due to the pain I was in from an Auto Accident.  An attorney had told my spouse years ago, never sign anything that would allow the release of your medical records potentially to the third party at fault, in the event there was litigation needed, your health information that did not pertain to the accident could be turned around and used against you.  While they did type up another PHI Form for me to sign, it was very apparent they were not happy with our choice to mark through allowing them to share with "ANY" and that I noted on the said form I was told if I didn't sign it, I would not be seen.  My treatment was not right for me in the end (no adjustments - just exercises),  I left hurting worse that when I went in, and the pain worsened thru the night with difficulty sleeping.  Bottom Line - I should have left at the point of the issue about them requiring me to sign a Patient PHI Form, which read "ANY", and just looked for another provider.  I was looking for some relief.  I hoped for an adjustment to see if that would help my pain, instead I was given exercises only (which I don't mind effort of exercising) - however being in pain from a car accident, the movements were probably not the wisest recommendation - since it has now caused me to hurt worse.  Not all patients can be treated the same.  I went to this office because 2 other people I know had been there.  1 of the 2, also said they were put thru the same exercise routine, and have shared due to their situation of bone rubbing against bone, probably not a good or even viable recommendation to them to do the proposed exercises.  Just not a good fit for me at ALL. No X-rays were taken, which is pretty standard by a number of other providers I've spoken too in this field :-(  Now, I have to start over with another provider.
