Helema Ballard, LPC

Therapist Ballad has been very helpful during my healing journey.  She’s offered strategies and perspectives that I had not considered.  She challenged me to more forward.

I’ve been in counseling with Helema for over a year and finding her was one of the best things to happen to me. Helema doesn’t just me talk for 45-50 minutes, she challenges my thought patterns and gives me healthy tools to become the best version of myself. Helema also has no problem telling me things or asking me questions that I may not want to hear, but did so, BECAUSE I NEEDED to hear those things. Counseling and therapy is there to challenge your mind to create positive change. Helema does just that. She has empathy while you struggle and is there to guide you for what you need. She’s great at explaining what you’re feeling and helping you process emotions. She is a wonderful counselor and I’ve had great experiences with her. 

Dr. Helema has been extremely helpful in my journey of understanding myself better and seeing life from a different perspective. I am extremely grateful to have found Dr. Helema when I did because I truly don't know where I'd be without her support and advice. If you are looking for a therapist, this should be the person to go to, I promise you won't regret it. 

I was matched through an online system with Helema, and I am very thankful I was. I struggle with opening up, especially if it involves past trauma, but she had made it very easy and comfortable for me to do so. I have been working with her for quite some time now, and I will definitely be continuing my journey with her. I have worked with other counselors in the past, but my experience with her has by far been the best and I have seen the most progress. I feel comfortable bringing up a variety of topics, and she is always very open in adjusting our sessions as needed to better assist my needs. If you are looking for someone who will help guide you through some difficult times in life, she is a wonderful person to work with. 

I took a chance and randomly chose Helema based on a profile online. I am happy I did. I am usually a self-aware person but a string of life changing traumas left me uncentered and I was struggling to find footing and find myself. She is very easy to talk to and even though she is the professsional, I have been very clear on what I wanted and driving the direction of my counseling because that works for me and she is fully supportive. She got me through a very dark period where my normal confidant was unable to be that person for me. I look forward to our sessions and it relieves pressure that I feel in my day to day life. 

This was my first appointment with Helema through my work EAP service and all I can say is that was the worst experience with a therapist I have ever had. As I opened up about my situation and my thoughts and feelings which was already difficult to do, I sat there while she told me told me if I really felt this why, then why am I even here and continued to what felt like convincing me I should be regretful of my decisions.
