Dr. Jensen has been my provider for just under a year and I have hated every visit with him. He's late, hardly listens, types the whole time you're talking and then asks you to repeat yourself, and is usually rushing matters along unless he wants to talk about a book he read or his starting education as a journalist. Yes, his undergraduate is in journalism, not psychology or anything related to helping people. He told me he became a doctor because it was "what was in demand" since he could not get a job in journalism. He may know bipolar disorder, but he does not know how to listen to his patients. I've been diagnosed with GAD, borderline personality disorder and major depressive disorder throughout my 10-year psychiatric history, not one of them (7 psychiatrists and 6 therapists) said I was even remotely bipolar. I have mood swings, that's why Dr. Jensen said I was bipolar and needed bipolar medications. I believe mood swings come with depression and anxiety and poor coping methods but he believed I was wrong because he's the doctor. I was warned by my clinical psychologist when I told her he was the provider I chose, she said she hoped I could advocate for myself because this man wrongly diagnosed several of her other patients for bipolar disorders and pushed many of them onto bipolar medications. That's exactly what happened to me. Also, the man is fine with giving endless amounts of Ambien, but would never prescribe 0.5mg of Lorazepam because he "doesn't want to create addiction" yet Ambien is equally addictive. He only cares about raking in money, prescribing more pills, and preventing lawsuits. He cares very little for his patients. When I told him I was unhappy with his services and thought he was practicing improperly and disrespectfully, he laughed. He just laughed. So I found a better psychiatrist and am much more happy. He may be okay if you're bipolar, but if you're not, you've been warned.

I had a terrible experience with this doctor. He was distant and seemingly uninterested and had a terrible sense of sociability. After two appointments, the second of which he showed up to half an hour late without a word of apology or explanation to me or to the person ahead of me, he concluded that my previous 3 years of care and half a dozen previous doctors were all wrong, and that how I wished to pursue my care was also wrong. I won't be going back-- but as I left I thought about asking him, "Whats my name?" I'd bet my car he couldn't have answered.

Dr. Jensen is very knowledgeable and experienced in helping people in severe crisis. I don't know how I would have made it through without him.  He is kind and is a very good listener.
