Dr. Weinberg joined Stamford Health in 2017 as Director of Pediatric Surgery. He is board-certified in pediatric surgery and came to Stamford Health from Albany Medical Center. Prior to Albany Medical Center, Dr. Weinberg practiced at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx for more than 30 years. After earning his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, Dr. Weinberg stayed at Einstein for his surgical residency. He then received training in pediatric surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital and Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami. Dr. Weinberg later returned to Albert Einstein to serve as a professor of surgery. Dr. Weinberg provides surgical care for patients ranging from birth to 18 years. He has a particular interest in issues facing premature babies and works closely with perinatologists in the management of fetuses found to have abnormalities on antenatal sonograms. Dr. Weinberg is also interested in surgical problems of adolescents, as well as treating non-penetrating traumatic injuries.
