It can be a scary time for parents, and for children, when a child is ill, but I believe that being patient and empathetic helps reassure both. No matter the circumstances of the visit, my goal is to make each one fun, easy and even enjoyable. I love science and have always had a desire to care for people and to find a way to make change in the world, no matter how small. I chose to specialize in pediatrics because children have such innocence, hopefulness and, yes, even humor, that it makes my day-to-day job so much better. It’s even better if I am able to work with families to help establish good, healthy habits from the beginning, so together we can avoid future diseases.
