I began seeing Dr. Crandall in 2005 after a poor outcome from a laminectomy performed by another surgeon. Dr. Crandall was conservative in exhausting other non-surgical options including PT and pain management, and explained the benefits of postponing for as long as possible. In 2013, things had deteriorated such that surgery necessary. I sought a 2nd opinion in NYC with a prominent orthopedic spine surgeon, but opted for Dr. Crandall and had a great outcome. It was a 10-hour surgery (anterior/posterior spinal fusion). I'm 5 years post-op and still very satisfied with the outcome.
