I had an appointment May 16th, 2023. At this appointment I had my teeth examined and had one filling done. I am very aware that I need a lot of work done and they scheduled me to get a root canal done on the 6th- prior to the 6th I voiced my concerns about my upcoming appointment; my concerns being that they kept asking each other if they should refer me to a specialist (only worried me because they didn’t explain to me why and it made them seem like they didn’t know what they were doing) and the other concern was that the tooth they did a fill on was very sensitive and causing pain (something I’ve never experienced after a filling) with those concerns they decided it would be best for me to see a specialist which I was ok with that decision. 3 1/2 weeks after my filling I was having severe pain in my tooth they filled, I could also feel a heart beat inside of it. They called and told me that it was a deep filling meaning that they could have touched the root and that I would possibly need a root canal done ($3000 procedure including crown) they never told me that it was a deep filling before the procedure nor did they tell me when I was bleeding during the fill. I later voice my concern for future treatment because I felt very uninformed and instead of being more informative she told me that I would be happier at a different office and that I should go elsewhere for my further treatment. I am only 18 years old- I have a lot of dental problems partly due to genetics and mostly due to being medically neglected for years by my parents. I am trying to get everything fixed but it is hard being so young trying to afford it and being judged and lectured by every office- I thought this office was different but by me simply asking questions it led her to say that I should find a different office. I was nothing but nice and appreciative to them and the work they did for me and all I wanted was more information and for my concerns to be addressed and explained so I could better understand the situation but instead I was told to find a different office. I am very disappointed in this outcome and upon request I will no longer be attending this office.
