When I hurt my knee, it was very swollen and I could not put pressure to stand or walk. I went to see Dr. Templin, as he was listed as sports medicine, which, to me, meant he should be versed in knee injuries. I explained to him that I had a previous injury on the same knee (partially torn ACL / no surgery). He only looked at my knee and said, "I know what you did...you tore your meniscus" and here are your options: 1- drain it "which will hurt," 2- cortisone shot "which will hurt," or 3- "live with it." No xray, MRI, nothing. I went to a different doctor, and we discovered that I did indeed have a torn meniscus. But even more - 80% of the meniscus had to be removed on the interior and 20% removed on the exterior. I believe that he would have discovered this with proper testing. His three options, especially considering the prior compromised condition of my knee, were completely inappropriate and came across as very condescending.

To add insult to my injury, I was forced to pay the full price for my visit that day (for nothing... I choose option 3 with him as the doctor), even after telling his office staff that there were items paid not yet showing for my deductible. I repeatedly asked to be billed. They refused. When it turned out that I was correct and did not need to pay the full amount on the spot, it took repeated calls and over 4 months to get a refund. They were very rude and also condescending. Taking responsibility for my part, I was in a lot of pain and not willing to take being treated poorly.

I would not recommend this doctor's office.
