Mr. Callahan‘s assertion and opinion that I exhibited self limiting behavior and provided sub maximal effort during my exam is extremely disappointing. Wish that I had looked into his credentials prior to making an appointment. Unfortunately, I needed an FCE almost immediately. Upon review of Mr. Callahan‘s experience, according to this website is what I would consider subpar. It appears that Mr. Callahan primarily provides care to white women over the age of 65 who have high cholesterol, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and depression. The latter of which, is likely why Mr. Callahan invited this patient to watch videos where the presenter made unsubstantiated claims that chronic pain was all in a patient’s head. After the first video, he invited me to view another. As a practicing nurse for 32 years, I was initially taken aback, But after the second video I had to confirm, and he did verbally say that yes, he believes chronic pain is all in a person‘s head. I do not recommend engaging with this provider if you are an individual who has chronic pain as I’m sure that you too will be judged as engaging in self limiting behavior and putting forth submaximal effort.
