I found Dr. Schirmer to be extremely competent. He met with me 2 weeks before surgery and explained the procedure and and everything I was to expect. The day of the surgery he again met with me and asked if I had any questions. I found him to be confident and reassuring.
Dr Schirmer checked on me after surgery and again the following day, even though he was not scheduled for rounds at that time.
I was able to be discharged the following day, and although it has been less than a week since my surgery, it is healing quickly and have had virtually no pain since.
I would absolutely reccomend Dr. Schirmer to anyone in need of disc or spine surgery, and would rate his care as excellent.
