I have brought my 2 yo son to Dr. Clark a few times, once for an ear infection and the other two times with constipation problems. Dr. Clark seemed okay with the easy interactions with my son but the last time we visited and he wasn't sure what the problem was Dr. Clark wasn't very gentle with my son. Couple things about my son: He was born with a heart defect and has had to deal with doctors quite a few times in his 2 years of life. So, it is pretty impressive that he is still compliant to whatever the doctor or xray technicians, ect needs him to do. So when doctor Clark is trying to look down my son's throat and just jabs it down making my son gag Dr. Clark doesn't say anything to my now scared/concerned son. Nothing like, "I know. Sorry that doesn't feel very good." After that Dr. Clark goes to check my son's ears, which he's done before with my son complying perfectly, now my son doesn't trust what the doctor is going to do next and shy's away, making it more difficult. Then Dr. Clark has to swab my son's throat and again just jabs it in this time making my son cry and then just walks out of the room without any kind of concern toward my crying son. I understand doctors meet all kinds of patients and dealing with kids can be even more difficult but this doctor knew that my son would do what needed to be done and if this doctor had shown any sort of kindness or concern or acknowledgement that what he was doing to my son needed to be done and that he wasn't trying to hurt him and talk to my son like a living conscious creature it might have gone over smoother. Now I worry that my son will no longer trust doctors and won't comply with the continuous visits in the future for his congenital heart condition. We will not go to Dr. Clark again.
