This review does not reflect Dr. Seidenstein but rather the questionable billing practice of this Rothman Orthpedics. I made sure Dr. Seidenstein was a top tier practioner with Aetna to avoid having a co-pay or deductible payment. The Aetna website indicates he is top tier. When I went for my visit I was charged a $30 co-pay and then ushered into the x-ray machine. I explained that I would prefer to discuss my condition with the doctor before exposing myself to radiation (no matter how small). I was told I could not see the doctor without first having an x-ray RED FLAG - this is a way to ensure that this office collects $$$$ for an x-ray without a doctor providing prior medical justification. I never returned to this office, but when I spoke with Aetna, they said because the new Paramus address is not in the system, it’s not recognized. I then called the Rothman Orthopedic billing office and was told that Rothman O is billed differently than the individual practitioners in the practice. HUH? Is the average, non-medical billing person supposed to understand this nuance in addition to know that billing for a non-medically justified service is billing fraud? I will probably never see my $30 co-pay back from this practice, but I wanted to pay it forward and advise that your find another practice. But if you must see these doctors, question everything this office does and how much you will ultimately be paying these orthopedic doctors for unnecessary and/or services that should be covered by your already expensive insurance.
