Biopsy
A biopsy is a procedure performed to remove a small sample of cells for testing. The cells are examined in a laboratory to check for disease, or sometimes to see how badly a known disease is affecting them. Biopsy can be performed on any part of the body.

I went to Dr. Yampolsky after a terribly traumatic wisdom tooth extraction surgery with an endodontist in Center City. The endodontist that extracted my wisdom tooth did not take x-rays prior to the surgery and ended up completely severing my lingual nerve resulting in loss of sensation, feeling, taste on the entire right side of my mouth. After being told I would need nerve damage repair surgery and that the surgery was not a guaranteed success, I was hesitant to move forward with the surgery. However, I knew it was important to do my due diligence and decided to set-up a consultation with Dr. Yampolsky. I can say enough good things about Dr. Yampolsky. From my initial experience with him and his ability to provide me with all the information and pros/cons of the surgery, to providing his email address for any last minute questions I had prior to surgery, to his being on time the morning of surgery and providing reassurance that everything would be okay, I don't think I could be any more satisfied/appreciative of the support and asssistance I received under his care. I can't recommend him enough.
