My son (7 years old) was admitted to Loma Linda over Christmas break 2022. The doctors in the High Desert had misdiagnosed a sinus infection that ended up spreading to my son's brain and also developed into Orbital Cellulitis. When we had taken him to the ER at Loma Linda my wife and I were expecting to be sent home with a prescription for stronger allergy meds, however, much to our surprise we were briefed that he was looking at potential brain surgery. Thankfully, Dr. Galvis was able to intervene. With his wealth of knowledge in infectious disease we were able to bypass the knife and treat my son with a course of aggressive antibiotics. Working with Dr. Galvis was a Godsend. In such a stressful time he reassured my wife, son and I that everything would be ok. My son took a special liking to him as well. Dr. Galvis is great with kids and he knew how to effectively communicate with not only my wife and I but also my son.
