I saw Dr Columbus to get hemorrhoid banding. I had two appointments. She did an evaluation on the first visit and prescribed Metamucil to see if I can get to a more normal schedule of bowel movements and that she may do the banding if necessary. After a month, the bowel movements have become easier, but the frequency has not changed. She focused on bleeding which had been reduced but not the pain. I went back to see her again after a month. She seemed very rushed. Asked how things went. Told her that the Metamucil was helping with the ease but still frequency was still there and pain was still there. At that point she recommended that I see a GI doc to get a colonoscopy. At that point I thought, why did she even take my case if she wasn't intending on banding anyway? If the Metamucil worked and the hemorrhoids were good, we both would have been happy, but they aren't, and she is now done with me. She should have referred me to a GI doc from the beginning. Her reasoning for referring me to the GI doc is that frequency has increased, and I should get scoped. This was the case from the beginning.
