Aleksander Bernshteyn, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric surgeon and serves as the Surgical Director of the Adolescent Bariatric Surgery Program. He has a strong focus on implementing minimally invasive alternatives to traditional surgery for children, and on designing treatments to minimize pain and scarring and make recovery as simple as possible for patients and their families. While an undergraduate student, Dr Bernshteyn served as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician, leading him to realize his passion for medicine. Dr Bernshteyn completed fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic and in pediatric surgery at Miami Children's Hospital.
