Family Medicine practitioners - Oakton, VA

"Just moved to Oakton VA, and my first visit to determine my family care doctor. Dr. Hedge listens well and understanding my concerns quickly. I got my lab samples at 10:00, and results come out around 4:00pm, and what impressed me is that Dr. Hedge have the summary comments within 30 minutes, and send another prescription (based on test results) within 15 minutes of our MyChart communications. Will recommend wife to see Dr. Hedge very soon."

"I'm careful when I schedule a doctor appt because I usually have to take off work to do so, and I type the time into my calendar while I'm on the phone and repeat it to the staff member who creates the appt for me. The staff told me 2:30. over the phone. I showed up between 2:20 and 2:25 and was told my appt was for 2:15 and they could not see me. When I made the appt I gave them my cell phone for reference because I seldom use my home phone or check messages on it. But they called my home phone anyway with an appt reminder NOT my cell phone. If they had called my cell phone I would have been able to call and get the time corrected. As it was, I took 3 hours off work, so I could drive to the appointment on time (2:30), and was then told by the staff that Dr. Blanco said 10 minutes late would mess up the remainder of his appointments and I would have to come back the following week. I have no idea where they got my home phone number from, other than possibly out of the INOVA database, because I never give it out as a number to call if I need to be reached, you know like for appt reminders. I'm usually right on time or a bit early, but what happens the next time I run into traffic and am a few minutes late? Completely unacceptable. "
