Pulmonologists - Katy, TX

"I chose to visit Dr. Alikhan based on two factors: associated with Methodist Hospital (where I’d visited ER), and in my insurance network. The visit went very well: 1. Called on 5 Jan for an appointment, got one the very next day. 2. Office staff courteous over the phone and in person. Emailed the new patient paperwork, which I completed and returned the day before appt. 3. When I showed up 45 minutes early (unexpected morning changes), they were able to accommodate, and I was in a room in 15 minutes. 4. Got vitals, and they offered a bottle of water. 5. Doc and PA came in. Doc spent about 20 minutes listening to my history and examining me. He was attentive to every detail, asking questions about my answers, to get the whole story. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Dr. that truly wants to listen. It was a great experience today!"

"Do not come here if you are looking for a practitioner that at least acts like he cares. This is my second visit to this doctor. After waiting almost an hour, I calmly asked him to please talk to me and interact with me because I didn’t feel like he was answering my questions about what had been going on with me for nearly 6 months. His response was that he’s a doctor and he can multi-task. If you don’t like it then you can get another doctor. I’ve worked as a medical coder for doctors for my entire adult life and have never had such a horrible experience. I said I knew he had to document, I was not trying to say he was wrong or not listening to me but that I wanted to be treated like a human being coming to him for help. His answer was a flat “do you want me to order a test or not? I walked out and he walked out behind me but I guess I wasn’t walking fast enough so he felt the need to brush past me to get to the next patient. I’m writing this sitting in my car crying in disbelief and frustration. Spare yourself this experience."
