"Dr Ginsberg diagnosed me (and the rest of my family, like dominoes), 34 years ago, in 1987; and he did not do it over night. He took the time to really listen, cooperate with my pediatrician to make sure they were on the same page... I was an avid diary keeper back then, and he took the time to read every word because he felt that it was important to my diagnosis & to my state of mind. He was able to pick up on things that I had been feeling, but never told anyone. If it were not for him, taking the time and attention that he did 34 years ago, I would not have lived to see my 16th birthday. But back in those days, he was still making hospital rounds and still seeing his patients.... Unlike today... Beware of the Nurse Practitioners Ginsburg no longer makes hospital visits, and he does not see his office patients on a regular basis either. Red Oak Psychiatry has outgrown itself so now when you make an appointment, 75% of the time you WILL get an appointment with a nurse practitioner (who 99.9% of the time do not care about you, will not remember your name the next time you come in, does not want to be there, has the after-work party on their minds, or are otherwise distracted). Out of all the nurse practitioners that I saw there (and there were several), I only found ONE who was competent, took the time to listen, and cared enough to work with me on my treatment plan. The worst practitioner that I saw there had me so doped up that I could hardly remember my name! My mother had to drive me to my appointment and raise the roof to get my nurse and my meds changed! This is who you get to spill your guts too... then she gets to go stand in line and wait to speak to the All-Mighty Dr Ginsburg... Mind you, the nurse has already decided what she's going to do with your meds, and he rarely disagrees... so when it's your nurses turn, she gets about 5 min to explain YOU, and YOUR TREATMENT, to a DOCTOR, who is so over worked, I'm surprised that after 34 years, he even still remembered me! Office Staff It is advisable to catch them on a good day. They have so many rules, loopholes, people, and fees… OMG the Fees... need a copy of what? That will be $25 please. All I can say is that if you are a patient at this office and you need a refill on a script that requires you to mail in a script request, don’t mail it.. I had a system for dropping the request off, along with the return postage paid envelope. Made sure that I handed it to a person with a name, noted the time and date, and made sure that the request made it into the right place. Any such thing as this, it is the nature of the beast, document everything! Phone calls, trips to the office, Names, dates, times, EVERYTHING. you want to be the one backing them into a corner, not the other way around. If they back you into a corner, they will reach into your pocketbook, guaranteed! "

"He doesn’t care one bit about patients. If he’s on call, don’t bother trying to get his help. He doesn’t even have the decency to call you back and find out what’s going on. He just has the answering service call you back and tell you to go wait in the emergency room for 8 hours…..for something he could fix in 5 minutes. He’s heartless and I wouldn’t take my dog to him."
