Endodontists - Dallas, TX

"My experience was not a very pleasant one. Actually it was just short of a disaster. After driving for 50 miles, My wife and arrived at 7:45am for 8:00am appt for a RC retreatment. My pain level was 8/9 at this time. Doctor Amit Sethi arrives at facility at 8:35. I was called back approximately 8:55 with no one asking how I was doing, what's my pain level, do you need anything to make you comfortable, etc. 9:15 doctor finally gets to me in exam room and does a couple of basic steps to see which tooth is bothering me then leaves out. Last time I saw or heard anything from Dr Sethi. Around 9:30 the desk clerk and my wife come to exam with a sheet that itemized all of the charges that we will have to pay before the doc can proceed. There were 9 itemized charges in all that totaled approximately $1,400. Despite my insurance company explicitly stating that we had coverage for 7 of the 9 charges via telephone while I lay there in the doctor's chair listening on speaker phone, DC Endodontics insisted that we pay all charges in advance just in case the insurance does not pay them correctly(not my problem). Two hours after my initial appointment time, we were still going back and forth with with the clerk over why we would be asked to pay all charges in advance then await reimbursement when the insurance company pays out. Out of sheer frustration, my wife and I decided to leave. We spent wo hours spent haggling over what should have been a simple process. DC Endo demonstrated that they could care less about me as a patient in need of their service. Their primary focus for over 2 hours was getting as much money as they can at our expense. We left the facility at 10:10 or so and found another In Network - Endodontist much closer with an appointment the next day after hearing what we had experienced in Dallas Endo. This place was the complete opposite. They explained everything to us upfront on the initial call, asked how I was feeling and focused on how they will assist with our issue. We were told exactly what our financial portion of the overall cost would be. The same procedure was approximately $660 less expensive than DC Endo and the service was at a completely different level. Not sure what you are looking for in terms of service and professional etiquette, but Dallas Endo was not the place for us. Compassionate, professional patient care should be the utmost focus for anyone in the medical field. The money making will take care of itself."
