"Dr. Burns did not recognize a major stroke that my wife suffered, she is 1.5 years into a hard recovery. Flight for life had to preform life saving intervention as they almost lost her during the flight. Brain surgery and 3 months at avera Sioux Falls and she is still damaged. If dr. Burns had recognized the signs of stroke he could have done something to help. Instead he said “ well, the ct is clear, I don’t want to kick you out on the street, but you can’t stay here”. I was shocked! The nurse was shocked! He sent us home while she was suffering. I didn’t know what to do. So I brought her home where things progressively worsened. So the second time we brought her to avera st.Mary’s, a different dr was in the ER. He immediately sent her to Sioux Falls on the flight for life. We are shocked and devastated. I have so much more to say about dr. Burns incompetent rude behavior. By the way I am a retired EMT in Jones county."
