Dermatologists - Middletown, RI

"I visited Dr. Buntinx several times for a common (but embarrassing, and gross) and painful skin issue three times. I liked him on the first visit, he was thorough and explained different methods of treatment. The second time he referred me to a surgeon, but it ended up being the wrong surgeon, so his office called me back and gave me a new referral. For both referrals, they said they'd contact the surgeons and I should follow up with them in about a week. Neither surgeon had any idea who I was or who Dr. Buntinx was. They were completely caught off-guard. When I tried to explain to them the reason I was reaching out, they said they'd need to reach out to Buntinx. In the meantime, I had another painful flare-up and went to Dr. Buntinx to lance it. He left me in a room alone, half-dressed, and when his assistant came back into the room she laughed at me and said I could get dressed. I told her I was in pain and wanted them to help me and she literally said "When it is red and inflamed like that, we don't want to mess with it." Which, as a layman, I totally get. Nobody wants to deal with this. But this is a Dermatologist's office, and they are paid well to deal with this stuff. I left there thinking that Dr. Buntinx probably has a cool Instagram account, and definitely has very noticeable blonde highlights he loves, but he is a dermatologist only in a technical sense. His office is adorned with expensive serums and lotions for teenagers with acne... and those are the only patients I can imagine him treating effectively."
