Optometrists - Johnstown, PA

"From the get go i told them that I'm extremely light sensitive. I was asked if I wanted the transitions on my glasses which I've always had on them. I explained that i don't go out much but when I do it's just errands, which means a lot of driving. They performed all of the procedures. We found that i needed a far vision and short one. We went with two pairs of glasses, one far and one short. Since i can't drive without them. They said they'd do the short sight one first and to come back whenever they had my driving glasses ready. Again I asked if they had the transitions so that I can see while driving. They told me to come-back once my glasses were done. About a week later I went out to run some errands and the pain in my eyes were unbearable. I called Janildo and they said that the transitions do not activate in the car... umm... That is why I started with the whole light sensitivity talk and tried to make sure that these glasses would transition ttheir darkest color. So seriously now I can't even afford contacts. So that was error 1. Error 2, I endedup having to go back for contacts. The light pain is pretty bad. When I went in to get fitted for contacts at least the one pair I could afford, my 15yr old came with me and she was carrying her "service rat" I can send the psychiatrist letter if need be. The older blonde lady saw her rat on her shoulder and told her "you can either leave it in the car or you can stay there with it"... She is 15, with a psychological disorder. It seriously had me fuming. She told my daughter that they had new carpets and she was overprotective of it. But she is fine with a 15yr with a psychological disorder to stay in the car by herself. I figured, they already had my prescription so it was going to take me a few mins not an hour. Error 3, I called for a copy of my prescriptions and the same blonde lady picked up the phone. She said she'd mail them to me. I told my husband what had just happened and he told me to call back for all of my prescriptions and a sweet person picked up. I explained that I had called in for 1 of my prescriptions but changed my mind and wanted a copy of all of them. She said of course and I asked her if she could email them instead. I get a phone call back with the same blonde chick all upset and yelling, said that she never said she'd email. If I had not needed the prescriptions like I did i would have told her off. They charged for glasses that were not needed, she made my 15yr old cry in the car for God knows how long. And she is the rudest, most incompassionate person there. Neither my family nor I will ever be going back there."
