Optometrists - Chalfont, PA

"Less than 5 years of experience and believe me, it shows. First, this "doctor" completely misdiagnosed me and wasn't able to spot a common eye infection. I was given the wrong medication TWICE which has only extended my healing time and caused further irritation and pain. Another more qualified ophthalmologist was able to treat me appropriately, gave me a medication that is finally working, and confirmed I was misdiagnosed. I have viral pink eye, which I was told is the most common eye infection out there. Being first given the wrong steroid (it was a free sample called Altrex, what does that tell you?) and then an antibiotic-steroid combo by Dr. Spinnato caused more redness, blurring, and pain. I also had to insist on even getting anything stronger for my eyes to stop the burning and oozing before the second wrong medication was thrown at me. I'm now almost a week behind in healing from this painful virus, but luckily, I went somewhere else... since Dr. Spinnato had also planned to dilate my eyes a second time in two weeks, which my new doctor confirmed would have just made the redness and floaters even worse. Oh, but don't mention you have floaters if you're under a certain age and worried about your eye health... her response will be "it's aging" and "I have them, too" and "you can't believe everything you read online," even if you show signs of inflammation and infection, which my new doctor confirmed can cause optic distortions. Gaslighting vibes. I tried to explain that my floaters got worse as the days went on and my eyes became redder and started oozing, and Dr. Spinnato ignored me completely and said "it's allergies." So which is it, then... allergies or aging? It made absolutely no sense. Also, Dr. Spinnato tried to touch my eyes and face without washing her hands (!) after touching the doorknob to enter my examination room. Because apparently, she had washed them prior. Comforting in a pandemic! And then she washed them for only a few seconds. It was just gross. If you care at all about your eye health, AVOID. Please just see an ophthalmologist -- I regret not going sooner. "
