"My husband and I have had numerous concerns about the level of service and care provided since we began seeing Dr. Bryson nearly 10 years ago. However we continued to see her just for basic RX refills while going to specialists on our own for everything else. Three main concerns that pushed us to finally find a different PCP include: #1: In 2015 my husband experienced a wide range of symptoms from passing out, dizziness, extreme exhaustion, frequent migraines, etc. Instead of performing any tests or taking any decisive action to determine the cause of these symptoms, Dr. Bryson blew it off. Luckily, we're not the type of people to give in that easily so my husband scheduled appointments with a neurologist, cardiologist and over specialists to figure out what was wrong. After many appointments, 2nd opinions, and tests, it was discovered that he had a rather large brain aneurysm at the basilar tip (right in the center of the Y where the main artery goes into his brain). We were immediately referred to a neurosurgeon who was able to successfully perform 3 operations to repair the aneurysm to prevent it from bursting. A ruptured aneurysm at that location would have been deadly and yet Dr. Bryson didn't seem at all concerned with the symptoms my husband was experiencing...nor did she take them seriously. If not for seeking the advice of other doctors, my husband most likely would be dead today. Instead, it's been 18 months since his amazing neurosurgeon repaired the aneurysm and he's doing great! #2: Dr. Bryson seems content taking a reactive vs. a proactive approach to care. With a strong family history of severe DVT & PE blood clots, numerous doctors have suggested that I have my PCP perform clot factor testing. However, when I raised this concern to Dr. Bryson she advised she couldn't order tests until AFTER I have a clot (which is potentially too late!). She also said she wouldn't order tests until every other affected family member was tested first. Considering that the tests are expensive and some individuals are either dead or are on disability, having them all tested before I could be tested isn't an option. She did not at all seem concerned or interested in doing anything proactive to identify potential clot factors which could save my life. She seemed perfectly ok with having me wait it out. #3: Dr. Bryson is not equipped to care for Type 1 diabetics. Beyond A1C bloodwork, no efforts to review bloodsugars, insulin pump settings, etc. were taken to provide care. Luckily, I was able to find an excellent endocrinologist who was able to fill this gap."
