"This provider loves to validate people which feels good and helps to build clientelle. The problem is, therapists only hear one side of any dynamic. When this validation is not combined with teaching the patient to take ownership of their own shortcomings it can be downright dangerous and damaging to the patients. It can alienate them from loved ones to the point where it's too late, and they are left old and alone because everyone who loves them gave up. You can only pet a biting dog so many times before you stop petting it. Do your patients a favor and question them now and again. Teach them compassion rather than just self rightousness. Thats really how you really KEEP IT REAL. Then you have an empathetic person who cares for others and you can all sit around in a group and talk about how wonderful you are, and it's actually the truth"
