Gastroenterologist - Gresham, OR

"I used this specialist because I was bleeding from the rectum and was worried i had cancer or chron's because my mom died from it at the age of 27. The colonoscopy was a breeze because I was knocked out and relieved to find out i just had ulcerative colitis. However, afterwards When I returned to Dr Doshi's office for two follow up appointments, I felt like the doctor disagreed with all of my input about how I should or should be feeling, what type of medication I should use, and what side effects should be valid or validated with colitis. My issue: Let me start off by saying, I was 19 when I first learned I had ulcerative colitis. The only reason I knew I had it was because I had a sharp pain in my left side so bad I could not stand up in the shower. The physician in Hawaii sent me to a gastroenterology clinic to have a colonoscopy and this is how I learned of my disease. As I shared my symptoms with Dr. Doshi, he shot down what I was telling him. He simply stated twice that having pain in your left side or inflammation was not a side effect of UC. So basically he is telling me I am full of shit. I even told him really because this is what I experienced last time I was diagnosed. Needless to say the guy charged me between 202-333 dollars a visit to answer a few question and rush me out the door. After I complained to the office manager I get a call the next morning from his assistant telling me she wants to set up a cat-scan for me. Note I had just told the office manager the day before I would not be back. I will add that I had a virus at the time of my last visit but I feel strongly that this issue was separate from my colitis. Now I am left with a doctor that had me doubting my own instincts about my own body. I want to add that my insurance paid the hospital I had my procedure done over 2500.00, him almost 700.00 and god knows how much exactly for labwork. I will of paid 800.00 out of pocket due to my deductible and I am not happy because I am still sick left with needing to find a new specialist. Although, I am sure Dr Doshi is probably a fine doctor; he needs to listen to his patients and do a little more research on ulcerative colitis. He will see that I along with the 40+ patients that suffer with colitis in the (colitis group) on facebook, would agree--- a pain in your left side/imflamation feeling is definitely a sign of ulcerative colitis or a flare-up. This is my experience, I am not her do discourage you from seeing this specialist only to make you aware of my experience."

"Have never had such a horrible experience. 1. Never asked for this doctor. They threw her on me at the last minute. 2. She never took her face out of the computer. 3. No physical exam. (Just questions) Said nothing wrong with me, based on a past exam. 4. Office overcharged me. When I called them on it, they claimed ignorance, and sent new bill. Bet they would of taken my money if I wouldn't of said anything. 5. Went to another doctor, and found out I DO have something wrong. Stay away people!"
