Infertility Specialist - Mason, OH

"After moving to the Dayton area we switched clinics to Springcreek. I had saw great reviews online and I was sure duped by those reviews. It was great in the beginning and there were a lot of diagnostic testing done which wasn’t done at our previous clinic. After our egg retrieval everything kind of went down hill. Our first FET was unsuccessful and we were told that Dr. Groll was pretty booked out for follow-up exams and the IVF nurse guided us the direction we should go in for further diagnostics. After our second unsuccessful FET we were told it would be 7 weeks before we could get an appointment with Dr. Groll, which in my opinion is unacceptable. We were luckily able to get an appointment with Dr. Harris (no longer at this practice) to go over next steps. She was concerned for possible endometriosis after being the only REI to do a complete gynecological assessment on me. After having surgery where biopsies were taken we never heard back from the clinic. I had a post-op follow-up appointment with one of the PA’s who missed a post-op site infection, stating my incision just looked irritated from clothes rubbing on it. My incision showed textbook incisional infection. It was red around the incision, warm to touch, and had small amounts of purulent drainage. After having my yearly GYN appointment my OBGYN told me that my pathology report from surgery showed now endometriosis, mind you this was nearly 2 months after surgery. After speaking with an IVF nurse I was told that they had never received my pathology report from the hospital. So they never received it and never tried to get it. If my OBGYN had never said anything no one would have known what my report said or that the clinic never received it. After our third FET worked I ended up having a miscarriage at 6 weeks. There is nothing the clinic could have done to prevent this but it was how it was handled that is upsetting and down right scary. The same PA that did my post-op follow-up told me the symptoms I was experiencing (severe lower abdominal/low back cramping, bright red bleeding, and passing tissue) was benign (verbatim what she said) and normal and they would see me the following week for my first ultrasound. She said they couldn’t do my scan that day because I was exactly 6 weeks and they possibly wouldn’t be able to hear a heartbeat. Since my miscarriage there has been no definitive answers on next steps. I get my labs drawn weekly to monitor my hCG levels but whenever I ask if I will have another scan to make sure everything passed (since I have/had retained products) I’m always told they’re not sure. This clinic has WAY too many patients to be able to adequately take care of their current patients. Their current patients don’t get the care that they deserve or the care that they pay thousands of dollars for. If you are hoping to have Dr. Groll be an active participant in your care be aware that you won’t have him. You can never talk directly to him. You always talk to the IVF nurses or an APP. I don’t pay the clinic thousands of dollars to talk to an APP that clearly doesn’t know what’s going on. The APP I always deal with needs some serious education regarding fertility treatments and basic medical care. I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. This clinic has caused me nothing but more stress on top of the stress that fertility treatments already cause. "
