"In September of 2023 I almost died. I just barely missed my femoral artery and punctured my left quad muscle twice when I tripped into a large standing mirror in the middle of the night. My knee went straight through the mirror, causing me to sustain massive lacerations covering the entirety of my knee cap. I could see my muscles, the fatty tissues, as well as my knee cap itself. I was lucky not bleed out on my apartment floor that night and even luckier to meet Dr. Blake Daney. I was rushed to a nearby Kettering hospital and thanks to the hard work and dedication of all the nurses and doctors on staff in the emergency room I’m still alive. And I want to extend a HUGE thank you to Dr. Daney! You’re my hero, man! I’ll never be able to thank him enough! I’m both incredibly grateful and lucky to have had him as my surgeon and to have the opportunity to continue my recovery with him as my overseeing physician. He saved my life and my leg. I love running, training in multiple styles of martial arts as well as heavy metal drumming (which for those of you who don’t know requires the use of a double bass pedal and the use of both legs and strong quad and calve muscles). I almost lost the ability to do the things that mean most to me, the very things that make me who I am. Dr. Daney gave me my life back and I am eternally grateful for the time, patience, precision, and professionalism he uses to treat his patients. He doesn’t just save lives, he changes them too! I’m expected to make a 100% full recovery. I am currently 5 and a half months into my recovery and I am remarkably father than I was projected to be. Dr. Daney is a ROCK STAR! the Tony Stark/Ironman of surgeons and if Marvel isn’t your thing, maybe music is? Then I’d say to you Dr. Daney is a Medical Mozart, the Da Vinci of Doctors. To be frank, you DON’T HAVE to spend egregious amounts of money and travel halfway across the country to receive proper care. Heroes are closer than you think. Just look out your window and you’ll see, Kettering Health is where heroes heal."
