"Our family approached Dr. Bleser about my Mother's debilitating health care decline, physically and mentally. Primary doctor for several years, Karen Bleser gave two pieces of advice- Involuntary commitment to mental services or see a nutritionist at Safeway. No tests, no specialists, NOTHING. Two weeks later, Gastroenterologist who met my mother ONCE gave urgent referrals to a neurologist. Days later, Neurologist finds MRI scan shows mom has a brain tumor the size of a softball and needs emergency brain surgery- she is in urgent need of care "the swelling could push her brain down and kill her any moment". If the swelling hadn't killed her first, she would have died from the tumor within 3 months. She is alive and well, and all because we refused to give up on our loved one like Karen did, or worse still- lock her up! That was the dangerous part. The truly sad part is that my mom wanted Karen to know she was going in for surgery and left her a voicemail. To this day Karen has not called my mom. Not only is she professionally negligent and medically incompetent, she is also heartless when it comes to her patients- albeit she would behave differently were it her own mother exhibiting the same symptoms. My advice- find a knowledgeable doctor who treats you as they would their closest loved one. This is the care we found at the Mayo Clinic and at NY Presbyterian Columbia, not in Karen Bleser. You never know when that difference could mean life or death, as in our case."
