"I went to Dr. Buka's office twice for hair fall. The first time he was nice etc. They proposed to have "free" mole check to see if there is any potential skin cancer risk related to my moles. After some time I learned the "free" lab test is not free, I was supposed to pay 15$. It is not much but I was tricked. The second time, after a month, without notifying me they changed the doctor, another one came for few mins and said everything is good and send me back. However, my hair fall was still terrible, but she said everything is gonna be okay, come again in 3 months, we will see the improvement later on. If you still have the problem, come sooner. Of course, I was charged again. My question is if one month is not enough to understand, why did you give appointment that early? Doctor Buka was fine but the office is not working as good. Try to find a better, less trickster office and go there. "

"Today was my first appointment ever in this clinic and I have to say how amazed and happy I am with amount of professionalism everyone gets from the entire staff. From the sectaries to the doctors that took care of me were all very friendly, polite, and professional. Which is such a nice change from the hospital I was going to called suny downstate on clarkson avenue where everything is the exact opposite of what I just said. Like I said this was my first appointment ever here and I am already so pleased with the place that I am changing all of my records and hospital appointments over here. The staff is helpful and friendly to everyone that walks in which was like a whole different world for me since I come from such a unfriendly, unhelpful, and extremely rude place of suny downstate. Plus where this clinic is the area is really nice and clean unlike (once again) suny downstate's area. It's right by the Verrazano bridge so that is a really nice view to see. This place is also fast with their work so you won't sit there all day long waiting with a huge headache. I got nothing but major compliments for the staff and how things are done here. "

"I've seen Dr. Mansouri for a few months between 2021-2022. Originally, I went to her for acne issues -- and I've had a pretty standardized regimen for acne so she was able to help me continue that course of care without issue. Unfortunately, Dr. Mansouri performed a biopsy on the right flank and failed to warn me how deep the incision of the biopsy would be. Because it was an unidentifiable rash, when I attempted to cover it with bandaids -- it irritated it further and caused a much larger scarred area than the rash ever covered originally. I called the office a few times to seek support in healing this scar, and was not helped. Not to mention, because we did a biopsy -- of course I got an almost $100 bill in the mail for the service. I know this is up to insurance companies, but the biopsy itself made my original issues so much worse so I called the office to see if they would be willing to support me through either offsetting the costs, or covering a future copay for our visit since I pay $50 each time I go to see her. They refused to do either. So now I'm left with scarring that will take a full calendar year to heal, and probably much more money in serums/ creams and possibly lasers to help. Lastly, we originally discussed tattoo removal. She advised I wait until the winter to pursue laser work on my forearm. I circled back at the end of summer, and suddenly she was no longer willing to pursue the procedure in-office and recommended me to someone who's consultation alone was $500. If you're hoping she'll help you with anything outside of regular, super easy to deal with acne -- I wouldn't trust this doctor. "

What is Dermatology?

Dermatologists are medical doctors who take care of your skin, hair, and nails. Their work can involve everything from treating uncomfortable and itchy allergic rashes, to injecting Botox and removing wrinkles, to performing surgery to remove life-threatening skin cancers.

Dermatology is divided into several branches. A dermatologist may perform all of these services in his or her daily work, or he or she may specialize and focus on just one field.

Dermatopathology deals with the identification of skin diseases. Dermatopathologists diagnose skin problems, usually by taking scrapings of skin and examining them under a microscope.
Cosmetic dermatology is the branch of dermatology that works to improve the appearance of the skin. This can include wrinkle reduction, liposuction, hair loss treatment, or the treatment of scars.
Dermatological Immunology is a subspecialty that deals specifically with immune related problems of the skin, such as eczema or lupus.
Pediatric dermatologists treat newborns and children with skin disorders. They also provide help to families with inherited skin problems.
Mohs surgeons are specialized dermatologists who can remove skin cancers using a microsurgery known as Mohs technique, where slides of the tissue are examined as they are removed. This is a very exact surgery with an extremely high cure rate.

The skin is extremely important: it covers and protects everything in the body. A dermatologist helps keep it healthy, as well as looking and feeling good.
