"The staff at the institute of hematology is great. The previous doctors I have seen there were all amazing. This doctor however was awful, he wouldn't listen and even shut me down to just talk about greek food instead of my medical issues. I have several blood clot gene mutations, which have been tested for several times nearly 30 years, and he still said there was no way I had that many. He disregarded my medical records completely and my active clotting. I only saw this poor excuse for a doctor once and then changed providers immediately."

"Your on a first name basis with this Doctor. However, you can call him doctor if you want to... Good Luck it's (Juan) He's sharp well educated, and has a great bed side manner. You get pats on the back and just straight up truth. He goes 100 miles an hour (loves Coffee) but he gets things done. He listens to what you have to say and works very hard to give you options. Juan is one of many Doctors at Cancer Care specialist, now CCS is a big growing machine. Corporation suffering from growing pains as options for oncologist in Reno are somewhat slim. I have been with him for a year I'm one happy guy he has given me much hope and success with my Cancer battle. For what it's worth Juan speaks a language to patients more doctors should learn. In my book he's the man!!!"

"He does not listen to his patients needs. When you ask questions about your care he will become defensive and suddenly wrap up his appointment with you. It took 6 weeks to get an initial appointment, and follow up care is poor at best. When I tried to ask for a different doctor in the practice I was told the supervising doctor would need to approve this and I would be called back by that physician. I have never had a return call after 3 calls to him (waited 2 months). Even my medical records were inaccurate once I obtained copies so I could go elsewhere. I have gone to another practice for my oncology needs and I suggest everyone else do the same. "
