"I dislocated two fingers late on a Friday afternoon, falling from a ladder. My middle finger was about 20 degrees sideways, and my ring finger was a disturbing 45 degrees sideways. I thought they were broken. The staff at Total Access Urgent Care (TAUC) took me to an examination room immediately, and Dr. McClure examined me within a few minutes - with a friendly and reassuring manner. His Emergency Medicine specialization was a definite bonus! A friendly nurse gently took x-rays of my fingers from different angles, and the doctor returned in a few minutes. He explained about dislocation, and putting the joints right (reduction). He gave me the option of anesthesia, but explained how involved & uncomfortable it would be for those fingers. I agreed to forgo anesthesia, and he reduced both fingers within a minute. It hurt for that minute, but was a relief to have straight fingers again - and the pain reduced almost immediately. They took "after" x-rays, which he reviewed and discussed with me. He provided me with follow-up instructions, a disk with the x-rays, and recommendations for a hand specialist (to reduce the chance of arthritis). I give Dr. McClure and the staff at TAUC - from reception, to x-ray, to billing 10/10 ratings for a thoroughly pleasant experience (except for that one minute). The medical care was excellent, the staff friendly & knowledgeable, and the cost to me was probably one tenth of it would have been at a hospital Emergency Room."
