Neurologists - Minneapolis, MN

"I Saw Dr Hassan on April 12, 2023 for an new patient visit. I have been having Neurological symptoms for about a year and have history of MS and Parkinsons in my family. I was concerned I had MS. The first visit was short, she did a physical evaluation and when checking my reflexes we noticed that my legs do not have the reflex response. She told me that was okay and I believe she marked that my reflexes were fine in my chart. She ordered an MRI which I had on June 5 2023. I went back on April 19, 2023 for the follow up. She said my MRI was normal and that it most likely was not MS. While I understand that, I am having neurological symptoms and expected her to address that. She told me she didn't have time in the visit to do anything else but never suggested that I schedule a follow up. I continued to press her abut my symptoms and she did do a physical assessment reluctantly. Afterwards she continued to say she didn't see anything wrong and that my MRI was fine. At that point I realized she had no interest in helping me so I left. I went to my primary care doctor this morning (Junen20, 2023) and took the notes from both visits with Dr Hassan. As soon as I walked into her office she could see there was something physically wrong with my posture and how I walked. She noticed my right arm does not swing and that I have a shortened gait. Dr Hassan remarked that my gait and arm swing was normal on June 19 and it clearly was not. My Primary also checked my reflexes and remarked that I have no reflexes in my legs, and that is a clear sign something is wrong. Dr Hassan saw that I had no lower leg reflexes in my first appointment and told me that wasn't a problem, and put that my nreflexes were fin in her notes. Dr Hassan totally dismissed my symptoms and rushed me out of the appointment. I do understand that she didn't have time for me yesterday but she could have offered for me to come back and to have a more thorough appointment to address the issues. Her continued response was "your mri is fine I see nothing wrong with you", when I am telling her I have symptoms. Now I will have to wait 3 - 6 months to get into a different neurologist, who hopefully will actually take me seriously and not dismiss me. Dr Hassan completely wasted my time and made me feel like I was crazy and that I was making this all up. I have never had a Dr treat me so poorly. I am glad that I know how to advocate for myself as a patient and will continue to get treatment and hopefully my issue isn't life threatening or urgent and can wait until I get in to see a new neurologist. "

"I saw Dr. Orehek a few times a few years ago. Her name popped up in a search for neurologists in my area after my primary doctor said she highly recommended I see one. I knew I didn't want to go back to her. She was condescending to me, almost laughing at me at one point while totally dismissing what I was telling her. I have experience with a few providers at Noran Clinic, Dr. Orehek for myself and Dr. Chassion for my son, and while I suppose it isn't fair to judge an entire practice on a few providers, I have no desire to return there for care. I looked at another review site and the Plymouth clinic in general only received 2 stars."
