Allergists and Immunologists - Minneapolis, MN

"I went to this doctor due to breathing concerns and to see if there were underlying allergies that previously not diagnosed. I was the first appointment of the day. It was told to me this would be a 45 minute appointment. First, we did a breathing test-Asthma supposedly was fine. He had 0 interest in finding what might be causing breathing difficulties. Then we allergy tested. Old fashioned testing - on my arms. Interestingly I was allergic to dust (which I was for over 30 years), but also pretty much every mold, pollen, and tree outside and dogs. His answer (and this is not a joke) was to clean my house and get rid of my dog who I have had for 10+ years. When I said issues were less than 2 years, he said well keep the dog away from my bedroom. Also give me a bunch of items overpriced that he claimed not to give a kick back. Recommended after I tried to get more information only to do shots for dust that might not work for dust allergy only (why not you ask all the other things). Breathing issue ignored and a sales pamphlet was what I got. I also wait over an hour for the diagnosis - the appointment took over 3 hours. Each step had a 30 minute wait. Worse appointment ever right? They charged $300-400 over what insurance would pay. I complained to the Administrator, who was slow in getting back to me and pretty much did nothing. Dr Bransford called due to my complaint and ended up telling me first I was wrong, then yelling at me and finally hanging up on me when I said you are a poor doctor. I continued with my complaint and the administrator said that she would talk to this great Dr. they had in Plymouth (I saw him in Edina). I never received a call back to make an appointment or to see what this Dr. thought. So flash forward a year, I go to my normal Dr. and again let her know that I am having the same issues - getting worse. She says to try this place and Maple Grove has a great person. So frustrated nothing is working, I go. I get a great nurse who does my breathing test and is stunned at Dr. Bransford and the overall experience I had. This Dr. then comes in and looks at the breathing results. He says well I hear you have breathing issue, but here is the thing-you don't have asthma. As a kid, you might have been I am telling no medicine for asthma will work. He looks at the breathing diagram (which is the same as the year before because the Dr looks). He says if I had asthma, it would look like a mountain (up and down, curved). Mine was like a plateau (up, straight across then down) that never reached full capacity to get as high as I should. He says it is in my throat. He is pretty sure Trachea, so he is sending me to a pulmonary specialist (explains if above the Trachea, it would be an ENT I need to see). So I go and get more test, Dr. says I need a scope. I am scoped by a trachea specialist. This Dr. says my Trachea is closing and needs surgery - at half the size I should have it. I get surgery within 2 weeks (during the holidays) - this is seen as pretty urgent as my breathing is so poor. It was successfully done. Also the allergist did blood work testing to verify the many, many things Dr. Bransford claimed I was allergic to, I am allergic to dust and minorly to mold(so little the nurse said it wasn't an issue) - there was zero tree dog allergy at all. So he failed to do anything about a major issue in my Trachea (in my opinion out of laziness--same type of dr knew and get me in the correct care path), he messed up on what I am allergic to, used old techniques instead of more modern care, charged a ton more (3 times what the 2nd one who tested for food too that Dr, Bransford refused to) and was the rudest Dr that I have ever seen. Avoid. This man is beyond terrible as a doctor. "
