General Practitioners - Portage, MI

"Dr. Elami began a program 8 yrs. ago based on housecall doctors and visits geriatric patients in their homes. In my husband's case, he went into American House Assisted Living, without my knowledge or authority (I am legal Medical Advocate) and prescribed Plavix, a blood thinner. My husband has suffered a serious closed head injury, placing him on that prescription caused cranial bleeding, it could have been bleeding into the brain or even death. He was admitted twice to the hospital and placed in ICU, he required neurosurgery and suffered additional impairments. On 02/01/17, at the time of the phone call from assisted living, there was a message on my phone from Dr. Elami saying that he was re-evaluating the Plavix. That was it, no communication and no concern in regard to my husband's welfare. He is treating the most vulnerable of patients, the elderly and disabled obviously without accountability. "
