Interventional Cardiologist - Brownstown, MI

"I have Cardiomyopathy, I was treated by Dr Chattai on Sept 22, 2020. The date is important because the last day I drank alcohol was Sept 18, 2020. Due to many stressful events, I was experiencing heart failure. I was told of my condition and that it was induced by alcohol consumption. I will take full responsibility for my previous behavior and have. I still have the Cardiomyopathy and have followed all advise from the Dr that includes abstaining from alcohol. On December 6, 2021 I found myself at the hospital again due to EXTREME GRIEF and stress. I lost my husband and 3 wks later my nephew shot himself in the head. So, after a confrontation with my step dad I felt I needed medical attention. I went to Beaumont DBN ER and was admitted. Dr Chattai even though he was at the hospital refused to see me and sent in his flunkies. Ok, I thought maybe he's busy. So in early Feb my therapist advised she would nn my cardiologist approval to start medication. I scheduled the appointment and never felt so DISRESPECTED BY A STAFF like I did that day. The nurse practitioner was rude and repeatedly talked over me. As she came through the door she announces "ya know with alcohol induced cardiomyopathy YOU CANT DRINK!" Really? the whole office heard her.. My integrity was questioned and I left feeling even worse than when I checked in. The one thing I am not is a liar! I don't know if they don't realize other factors can also have an adverse affect on this condition or if this is the treatment they extend to every patient. When I checked out, the scheduler also didn't listen as she sets up an appointment that wasn't even what was requested by her boss. I don't know, I don't expect an apology I just think Dr. Chattai needs to brush up on his bedside manner. i have to have another EKG done but will NOT be going back to that office to be treated like i was!. Shame on you and your staff Dr Chittai I expected better and deserve better."
