"I injured my left palm and infection started to spread quickly to the point where my hand froze and I could not move my fingers or wrist. Dr. Chen had completed carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand several years ago and I was relieved to find out he was the surgeon on duty for IPJI's immediate care on 1/2/24. I was "processed" quickly, kindly and with extreme attention to urgency of my condition. By having Dr. Chen in charge of my case, I moved rapidly through a very crowded ER and to in-patient status at Advocate Illinois Masonic ... I was on IV antibiotics within hours of first seeing Dr. Chen. An MRI found the infection deep within my hand. Surgery was required ... and happened in less than 24 hours after my initial diagnosis. I feel certain without Dr. Chen leading my case that I would have been caught up in long lines at other immediate care facilities and ERs while the infection continued to spread quickly through my hand and arm. It was obvious to me that Dr. Chen is highly regarded within IBJI as well as with the hospital staff and team members. He never hesitated in acting quickly and making sure I received the right and best care. My son is an athlete and had a hand injury last year. Dr. Chen also took care of him. He is a pro. A straight talker and good with all ages. You know your options and Dr. Chen's recommendations clearly. We haven't needed Dr. Chen for other upper body "repairs," but are sure glad he's on our team when and if we do!"
