"I have been treated by Dr. Jay for a little over 10 years now for the treatment, follow-up and surveillance of my Ovarian Cancer. Overall she has been a good doctor. She has a nice demeanor. She has been aggressive about ordering necessary tests , fighting my insurance company to approve them and has even admitted me into the hospital in order to have testing done immediately. She gives patients her personal cell number so that we can speak directly with her when necessary which is something that I do appreciate. However, with that said, Dr. Jay appears to have an overload of patients. The wait time to see her is horrible! It has consistently been 2-3 hours and then she spends an average of about 5-10 minutes with me. Also, more recently Dr. Jay has not been as diligent with keeping on top of my test results and the ordering of necessary tests. She has even confused my medical history with that of other patients when speaking with me. I believe that she is taking on way too many patients and this is affecting the quality of the care I have been receiving lately. In medicine in general but especially in the field of oncology mistakes can be devastating to a patient. Forgetting something important or not being as vigilant can cost someone their life, so this is something that does concern me. However, for the time being, because of our history together, I do intend to stay with Dr. Jay and stay vigilant and on top of things myself. But, I also intend to add another oncologist to my healthcare team as well so that there are more eyes watching over my healthcare."
