Neurologist - Duluth, GA

"I signed in for an appt I had for a month, after 3o mins and another patient inquiring why they were asked to come an hr early because of a cancellation yet to be still sitting in waiting room 10 min from reg appt I checked in with desk since I had not been called to check in, My name was crossed off the sign in as if I had already been processed. Then I was handed paperwork that contained accident related material, I explained to her that I was not in an accident she removed a sheet from the clipboard. I completed all except the accident paperwork that remained. After 10 more min I was called to the desk and given another clipboard full of paperwork stating that the paperwork completed was related to accidents. I told her was that I could not complete the same paperwork that I already completed, she was adamant that that because the other paperwork was part of the accident paperwork I needed to complete the same forms because they were no in the regular visit paperwork. Another 15 minutes my phone rings, twice I answered person hung up then I was told by desk that billing was trying to call me, she wanted to know if I wanted to take the call at the desk, I said no she just called me and then hung up. The person called again and stated that I had to pay more than a $1,000 for the visit. I explained my health plan and she then stated I needed to pay over $300 for the visit. I asked why no one called me prior to the appt to explain what the co-pay would be, she stated she tried to call the sat before, which I had no missed calls nor messages from that office. I requested my paperwork back and was giving a hard time and asked if I wanted to cancel my appt, I said no because I had driven 2 hrs to get there it was not a cancellation. So after 1 hr and 10 mins later I left this office without seeing the doctor. I appears that their main stream of income and patients were accident related and they had priority."

"My mother saw this doctor as a follow from a PCP visit. She completed a driving simulation test on the computer and an additional memory test. He also wanted my mother to do an MRI and a CT scan which my mother declined due to the out of pocket cost. Now before going to see this doctor my mother did a series of test with a neuropsychologist where she was told she had typical age related memory loss, but nothing significant to worry about. So, fast forward to a recent visit with her PCP, she finds out at this visit that this doctor documented in her records that she is at high risk for driving due to cognitive decline/cognitive impairment. This doctor did not have a discussion with her about the test results after that visit nor NEVER received any documentation by mail of these results, my mother found out about these results from her visit months later with her PCP. Needless to say she was livid! Her PCP mails her a copy of these results and none of the areas of focus were in the below range to qualify her as high risk. My mother schedules another appointment with this doctor and I accompany her to this visit well he was not happy with my questions and how I disagreed with his diagnosis as my mother is still very active, she has a part-time job, and she’s very independent. After the word salad he tried to push I told him that he was using decline and impairment interchangeably and which one was it. He became extremely defensive and a bit aggressive with his speech because I was questioning him and I did not trust what he was communicating to us. He then told us he would not schedule a follow up appointment and for us to find a new neurologist and that right there was telling! He didn’t need to tell us that because after this encounter, we weren’t coming back anyways! I believe because my mother didn’t to the MRI and CT scan, this is what he documented for monetary benefit! I’m trusting my instincts here and I would advise no one who really needs to see a neurologist to go to this doctor because he is not in the business of providing actual care for his patients!"
