"Took my wife to see Dr. Ellis. We spoke on the phone for an initial consultation and decided to proceed with the first appointment. She seemed like a soft spoken, and caring person, just the kind of therapist my wife wanted - someone to whom she could pour out her feelings and thoughts and get positive feedback in return. Instead, what she got was judgmental reactions and a very, "You can't do that. Don't bother setting goals," attitude. She apparently understood all about how my wife was treated growing up without asking or trying to understand what my wife told her. She continuously interrupted my wife, who was having trouble expressing her thoughts. And in those interruptions, she would inject her own narcissistic feelings - "Well, that's not how it was when I was growing up." Um, really? WHO CARES how YOU grew up? Things are a little different now than they were in the 60s. Please - please - if you are reading this, please reconsider. There are quite a few other therapist options. "

"He makes a diagnosis on his own assumptions, just to finish as quickly as possible and satisfy those who charge for it. Not at all professional, poor experience for working with patients suffering from PTSD. It can cause an even bigger problem for patients to start thinking that the only solution is to take their own life, (I speak from personal experience) in order to prove to him how dangerous he is for such patients. If you have been diagnosed with PTSD, do not go to this doctor because there is no experience of treating it."

"While in the middle of an emotional crisis, I set an appt to see this therapist. I wasn’t seen for over 45 min past my appt time bc she had 2 other appointments at the same time. When I finally got to see the therapist, she asked me the same basic questions on the questionnaire, told me I was in a crisis and that she wanted to see Me every week for the next month. THAT WAS MY FIRST APPT. no therapy , just a 45 min halfway conversation. I left feeling like I wasted time and money. Came back for next scheduled appt and after waiting an hour told the receptionist I had to leave and was advised that my appt time had been pushed back an hour and apologized that I was not called and told. I reached out for help in a desperate time of need and can’t even get it from the therapist. I won’t be returning "
