Gastroenterologists - Atlanta, GA

"If I could give a negative rating I would. This team and department is the absolute most neglectful group I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. After 2 portal messages starting May 9th and 4 phone calls, 3 of which the staff member themself told me they were sending to the clinical team as urgent, i to this day, have heard NOT ONE WORD from Dr. Razvi’s medical assistant, his nurse who was sent 2 messages and I spoke to personally who said she would get the message to the dr ASAP…A whole lot of promises and absolutely not one ounce of care for a patient who has nerve damage in her esophagus causing ongoing vomiting almost daily and apparently no ability to go to the bathroom after being placed on the highest doses of 2 prescription medications and finally telling them I had to take 24, that’s correct 24 DULCOLAX so I didn’t wind up with a blockage!!!!! I have been a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant for many yrs, 10 of those years I specifically worked in gastroenterology. There is not one Gastroenterologist, Physicians Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner that saw patients on behalf of the Dr, that would have been ok with a patient being left in this situation and not one phone call!! What a shame, I thought going to Emory would be the outside of the box thinking being they are a teaching hospital and the upper echelon of specialists. Apparently, it is just a name on the building and certain departments do NOT represent what you would think Emory would want to be known for!!! It seems to me they are so careless with a patients health, that a possible blockage, resection, and colostomy is either no big deal to them or business isn’t what it was prior to the pandemic and this would be another way to get a nice fat check for Dr Razvi and the Gastro team at the Dunwoody location!!! I will also throw in that I have followed up on another medication they we’re supposed to get a prior authorization on from my insurance to help with my vomiting, my pharmacy never received that and since no one calls you back, I guess I’ll just continue vomiting to the point where I severely hemorrhage on my face and we’ll just add that to the overuse and self medication of a laxative to keep myself from getting blocked because once again no one cares enough to call. That is some EGO this team has to think they are so superb that a patient will be desperate enough to wait on them! I have NEVER EVER left a negative review because if I’m not happy I move on. Being this is so dangerous and this is a specialty that should be helping you get back your quality of life, I felt it was imperative that people are aware when choosing a Gastroenterologist, Dr Razvi and the team at Emory in PeachTree Dunwoody are Extremely careless with their patients well being!!!"
