Surgical Dermatologist - Naples, FL

"Dr. Davidson was a good dermatologist to me for several years. I will give her a 5 star rating for bedside manner and punctuality. I will give her a 3 star rating due to the breakdown of trust after being a patient for several years. She is a competent doctor and even diagnosed one skin condition I had that no other dermatologist in town had been able to put a name to it and as a precaution she sent me for x-rays at the hospital. I checked out fine and I knew I had found a competent doctor. Unfortunately, the head surgeon in her office a few years later wanted to do unnecessary surgery on a non-existent sore on my face which I no longer had but had talked to her about and pointed out the approximate location of the sore. She wanted to do a scraping and then later the pathology report stated that area "MAY be cancerous". This set up a red flag for me. Her office called to tell me I needed this surgery or I would wake up one day with a full blown case of skin cancer on my face. I asked them more than once to have Dr. Davidson CALL me and tell me WHY I needed this surgery. She never called me. Her office said I should keep my appointment for surgery and have the head surgeon (I know his name but will not mention it here since I never met him) explain to me why I needed surgery on a non-existent spot on my face. My trust in the doctor was immediately destroyed and I knew I needed to break my relationship with them, so I did just that. Naples has a seasonal population and it wasn't snow-bird season. The same office personnel kept calling to try to goad me into coming for surgery and I pleaded for Dr. Davidson to just call me and explain why I needed this surgery. Her lack of calling me told me all I needed to know. I learned that If you do not have an obvious sore on your face, do NOT agree to unnecessary surgery. And leave the practice that tries to pull this on you."
