Orthopedists - Hollywood, FL

"Dr. Simon treated my parent in the hospital and in several follow-up visits. She refused to return phone calls about a concern we had, even though these calls were being made by medical professionals who were not making idle complaints, and the only response we received was to take our parent (who was at that point in a nursing facility) to an ER (this was definitely NOT a problem that warranted an ER visit in the middle of the Omicron surge). We were also told she would call us back, which she never did. She then had the nerve to tell us during an in-person visit to call her any time we had questions. The office staff was awful. After the 1st out-patient visit, we were given a return visit date, which the staff then never entered into their schedule. The staff also informed us at the end of the day, before the 2nd out-patient visit, that Dr. Simon was not a participating doctor on my parent's plan and would have to pay out-of-pocket for X-rays and a higher co-pay. They had no good explanation as to why we were not informed of this earlier, and at that point, having waited 1 month for this visit, it was not an safe option to just cancel the visit and find a new doctor. Even the insurance company (which still has her listed as being an in-network provider) had a hard time explaining this and still lists her as in-plan. -"

"I felt he just did not take the time to review the MRi and other medical information. After, it did not seem like a surgical procedure, gave very little interest in diagnosis. Follow-up and communication VERY poor. Hope you have better luck."

"Truly disappointed in the lack of connection Dr. Atte went out his way not to give. We had a surgery scheduled and it had to cancel, not to his fault, however a call was requested to discuss options. He avoided the call and instead put a rude note in the file and had the Admin/Nurse make the contact. That was so unprofessional and blatantly disrespectful. I tried to give him a pass as even when I went on initial visit he was cold and not truly interested as a Dr. I had an MRI and it took over two weeks for office to contact about setting up surgery and that was after we called and initiated the request. After reading another review I know for sure this is his demeanor for certain patients. All I wanted was a conversation to discuss options not 'negotiate '. He made assumptions opposed to just doing his job as a Dr, as MY Dr. Definite regrets, in the end I would not refer this Dr. to anyone looking for care and genuism, but if that doesnt matter then by all means give him a try."

"Incorrect diagnosis of partial bicep tendon tear. The Dr. kept feeding me pain pills and suggested physical therapy. Went to 2nd opinion and was shown with my own eyes that the tendon was completely torn causing "Popeye arm". Bicep was resting on the inside of my elbow. Mo amount of PT is going to re-attach the tendon. Surgery repaired the problem and I wasted 2 months eating Percocets like candy for no reason."
