"I had several visits with Dr. Allotta. He ordered me an MRI with two images. When I showed up for the MRI, there was only one image scheduled. I was told my insurance provider had approved only one image. Upon following up with my insurance provider, Aetna, I was made aware that they had received one request on May 2nd and then a second image on May 7th, the date of my MRI, was approved. When I went to see Dr. Allotta for my follow up visit, he read the MRI result from a sheet of paper then walked over to a poster and pointed out the area of the shoulder that was affected. I could not see anything. The detail on the poster was very small and he was blocking the view. I was very upset with him and his office staff and was not in the right frame of mind to then insist upon seeing the MRI image and having him show me the tear in the muscle and its location. I would have like to know what could happen to the tear in the near future. He did tell me that I was too old for surgery. There is alot more to this story but, I am trying to keep this short and simplified. I have asked for a copy of my images so I can seek a Doctor who will explain the image and point out the exact location of the tear. I have been advised to report this doctor to Medicare.
