"Dr. Gill was extremely unprofessional, scattered and heartless. On my two week follow up from surgery I was in a good amount of pain still. I have fibromyalgia, which I made clear to Dr. Gill before surgery, and I’m sure that contributed to my higher pain level. Including the fact that I had stage 3 endo removed where the worse is Stage 4. She said herself the surgery got very complicated and a lot was done. So she said she would continue to proscribe me pain medication and have me back in a week to see if there was improvement. Well, my appointment was Monday, the last appointment of the day. They closed right after we left and nothing was sent to the pharmacy. I remembered during surgery my regular pharmacy would not fill this type of pain medication and it had to be filled at one down the street from Dr. Gill. I called first thing Tuesday morning at 8:45 to remind them and they said they would send a note to Dr. Gill. I got a call back at 12:30 from Vanessa, Dr. Gill’s MA, that Dr. Gill sent the medication to the wrong pharmacy but they would fix it. She said when it was sent to the correct one I would get a call back. 5pm came and went and the office closed I never heard back. At this point I was in a lot of pain. So I called 9am the next morning after a difficult night and was told they would get back to me. Half the day goes by and at 1:20 I called again and was told Vanessa made a note the doctor was out all day and would not be able to fix it till tomorrow. I was respectful during every phone call but I won’t lie after I hung up I broke down crying that I would have to endure another day/night in pain only 2 weeks and 2 days after my surgery. Thursday comes. I wait longer to try to give the doctor time when just getting in but at 10:30am I call. I’m told again they will get back to me. I wait until 1 and decide to have my sister pick me up so we can go to the office in person. This was my most painful day. I walk in and am turned away because the doctor and MA were to busy. Again I break down crying from the pain as we drive away wishing I had done more research on a doctor who preforms these surgeries and will keep up on patients who experience more pain. Finally that day I get a call and hour before closing and am told the doctor has printed out a prescription for me to pick up and walk into the pharmacy with. I’m in so much pain I don’t want to have to drive to the office and grab the prescription. Then have to take it to the pharmacy, instead of it being sent in where a family member could pick it up but at this point I don’t want to complain and be in pain more days. So again my sister comes to get me and we pick it up from there office and take it to the pharmacy. The pharmacy said it’ll take an hour and to come back then. I breath a sigh of relief and we come back later only to be told the doctor did not hand write the date as needed with this type of pain med and they could not fill it. At this point the doctors office is now closed. I call the after hours number and they try to get in touch with the doctor but they tell me she didn’t answer and her voicemail is full. So again I wait till morning. This is the first night I noticed my pain thankfully started to lessen to my surprise and joy. Yet I call in the morning and the phone just rings and rings then disconnects every time. Surprised I again trek down to the office to find out they are closed Friday for the 4th of July weekend and it seems there phones were never transferred to the after hours service so I could not even try to reach them again that way. Over the weekend my pain does get better as I’m healing. The pain comes in waves sometimes as I have 4 boys and try to get the house in order but it’s getting better pain wise. By Monday I have my follow up at 3 and decide not to even call to fix the prescription as it’s not as needed but definitely wanted to talk about the pain I went through over the week. And my disappointment. This is where Dr. Gill showed herself to be so heartless. When relying how the week went but that my pain was getting better she didn’t apologize once she just said “oh well, guess we won’t need to prescribe you that.” I said I agree but because it comes in waves maybe we can prescribe a stronger extra strength ibuprofen to help. Not an opioid at all. She said I see no reason you can’t just go into the drug store and get the over the counter meds. I said yes but they are not as strong and after what I went through this past week and all the sleepless nights it’s not much to ask. She stated “if you could not sleep you should of just gone to the ER if you in that much pain”. As true as it might been she again did not apologize and would rather have me sit in Covid environment at the hospital for hours in pain rather than have done her job to help with my pain two weeks after surgery. I did not say that or speak disrespectfully. So when I answer “next time I will use the ER but I again feel after what I went through this week and how everything was made a mess it’s fair to ask for this prescription.” She shot up, started walking out and stated “fine whatever you want, see you in one month” then closing the door to leave she paused and said coldly “have a good day”. She didn’t check my wounds to see how they were healing. She never asked if I had addition concerns or questions about my wounds or healing which I did have. It was so unprofessional, short and rude. We met for less than 5 minutes. My husband and sister, who were with me looked at me in shock, stating I said everything so nicely but clear yet she was externally unapologetic and defensive. My husband stated that her prideful attitude in not being able to admit when she make a mistake like that with a patient was shocking. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone. Lastly I had this surgery two years ago as well. She did not use the same scars and incision marks as before to reduce additional scarring but instead carelessly made 4 fresh new incisions in my stomach. So now I’ll have 7 scars on my stomach. The last doctor only made 3 incisions. The only reason I didn’t return to him is I do not have the same insurance. Once again this doctor will not be responsible to help you once your surgery is done. She is prideful and cold. Please consider someone else with your own body so you never have to go through what I did. I hope this will help spare some of you reading this and help your journey with another doctor go smoothly.
