"I see some 5 star reviews. They must have paid for them. I've been with Mathias for three years. I don't like to change, but I can't take them anymore. The doctors are okay. The staff is incompetent,and at times, rude. I'm a very patient man, but I've been hung up on multiple times, and even chewed out. I've lost months of pay from my private long term disability insurance because of the staff's inability to follow through on the required paperwork, which I pay extra to have done. When I needed portable oxygen due to a fungal lung infection, I chased them for two months and never got it. When CVS contacts them to renew prescriptions, they don't reply, so I'm constantly having to bug the staff to get my medications. The office has no online presence. No email address. They don't take debit or credit cards. Before I can even schedule an appointment I have to physically go into the office and pay in advance, cash or check only. When I questioned why, Angelina came out and loudly chewed me out, stating that it's because i don't pay my bills. I asked her to show me where I hadn't paid. She refused. She told me that's the way it is and to live with it. I was told by my podiatrist to get away from Mathias because they carry more patients than they can possibly handle for the insurance money. That would explain a lot. These people should be investigated and shut down. I'm currently in the process of moving to a new care provider. I've never sued anyone in my life, but I'm currently consulting with an attorney about suing them for mental distress. Please read their Yelp reviews. There are many more reviews like mine. "

What is Geriatrics?

Geriatrics is the subspecialty of internal medicine that provides primary care to older adults. Physical health tends to decline with age, and geriatricians work to manage such age-related concerns as chronic illness, frailty, multiple medications, and declining mental health to keep seniors as active and independent as possible.

As part of their health care, a geriatrician may inquire about family support, living conditions, or the ability of a patient to perform daily self-care tasks.

In some cases, a geriatrician may serve as an advisor to other physicians on a specific case or condition. However, most of the time geriatrics is a primary care specialty, and geriatricians provide routine health care to the older patients they work with.
