Allergists and Immunologists - Fountain Valley, CA

"During the consultation we showed Dr. Friedman the blood test result for allergies, he still insisted on a pricy (> $800 billed to insurance) and extremely painful (because my kid screamed several times) skin tests, claiming they must do so for a treatment plan. I then consulted with my mom, who is a dermatologist in another country. She said skin tests was an ancient technology and now pubic hospitals in their country mostly do blood test and oral medications (no needles!). Then I asked Dr. Friedman in my 2nd visit after skin tests about oral medications. He said they didn't have any and the only reason is that it is inconvenient for patients to take many different drops and wait in between. What a lie! How would it be more inconvenient than frequent office visits, needles during the same visit and wait in between? I guess the only reason is that oral medications would cause them to lose revenue ($100 billed to insurance per injection). FWIW, as most bad reviews said, their billing department is horrible and totally messed up due amounts (but we anticipated it and did the math ourselves to keep them in our back pocket)."
