"I've been seeing Dr.Stepanoff now for almost two years and I must say that he is the best therapist I've ever had. I've had many problems with depression and anxiety and I've seen about 6 different therapists and psychiatrists, all of which diagnosed me as having some sort of anxiety disorder and/or severe depression...You know, the generic diagnosis every therapist gives their patients when they don't know what else to say!!! However, the diagnostic process was much more elaborate with Dr.Stepanoff. I explained to him that I've always been a "nervous" person and can't deal with stress very well but depression just kind of seems to hit me out of nowhere every 6 months or so. I always thought I was bipolar but Dr.Stepanoff did hours of testing on me (which I never had before even though I've seen just about every therapist in Southern California) and he diagnosed me as having Adult ADHD. Little did I know that this is one of the most misdiagnosed mental disorders in women and is often confused with being Bipolar because the symptoms are apparently very similar. No wonder I was never properly diagnosed! Needless to say, Dr.Stepanoff was truly a Godsend! I feel better than ever now that I'm taking the appropriate medication and understand what the root of my problems and impulsivity are. I must say I read some unfavorable reviews about him and felt compelled to write a review after what he's done for me in my life. If you're the person who's looking for the stereotypical therapist who sits and nods and lets you ramble on for hours about your life, Dr.Stepanoff is not the man for you! Don't get me wrong, he is a great listener and is very thorough in his work. However, I would describe him as a very hands-on kind of doctor in that he wants to find a solution for you and get to the root of your problems as soon as possible (without jeopardizing the quality of his work of course). Now I don't know about the rest of my depressed and anxious family but I want a solution to my losing my will to live as quickly as humanly possible! This is why Dr.Stepanoff has been perfect for me.... he got to the root of my problems quickly and made his job seem effortless. Highly recommended:-)"

"All I have to say is that this woman should not be a therapist. She came across as very aggressive towards me, accused me of things because she didn't bother to listen or ask the right questions, and basically told me to not stress about things I can't control. I know you shouldn't stress about things you can't control, but telling someone that does not help them, how about teaching some coping strategies! And when I told her I suffer from anxiety, depression and I am a cutter, her response was "sometimes we get angry at ourselves" and she basically glazed over the seriousness of my problem. She was a sweetheart to my husband (who also couldn't believe what he was hearing), and told him he couldn't control or help me with my feelings. Horrible therapist, that needs to stop practicing because she left me feeling worse than if I had ever stepped into her office!"

"I don't really know who is to blame but I called this office to see a Dr. regarding serious depression issues. I was referred to this Dr. by the office staff (more than one Dr. in this office) and never heard back from them. Pretty poor situation when you have depression issues, reach out for help and they can't even call you back. "
