Sleep Medicine Doctor - Burlingame, CA

"I have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea for over 10 years and receiving BiPAP therapy because my pressures are quite high 18/13cmH2O. All of my previous sleep studies have supported this and I reported this to the Dr at my appointment. He sent me for another sleep study and the technician confirmed my diagnosis verbally at the time. Upon receiving the report and diagnosis from the Dr my prescription was for CPAP therapy at 8cmH2O. I did not believe this diagnosis, so I took the report to another Dr (Jamie Marie Bigelow), who inspected the report and agreed with me that the diagnosis was grossly incorrect. She also questioned the need to even have another sleep study because I had one from 2014 that should have been sufficient to provide a prescription. I was not impressed by the doctor or his office even before receiving my misdiagnosis. The office is in a run-down building in china town. It takes a month or more to get an appointment. The staff seems overwhelmed with the number of patients--huge stacks of files on the reception desk. When I first saw the doctor he requested a sleep study, which I was able to schedule quite quickly. After the sleep study, I called to make an appointment to get the results--the first available appt was 6-weeks out. Then, when I went to see the doctor, they didn't even have my sleep study! Absolutely no 'care' is taken by this doctor or his office. Honestly, it seems to me to be a sleep apnea mill. Cranking through as many patents as possible is the shortest time."
